Here they will have an opportunity to visit the Maasai boma and share the knowledge regarding Maasai life styles and activities of day to day. ![]() Msaro African Adventures has provided an ideal itinerary that suits the clients who wish / who are willing to explore the lake Natron and climb the sacred mountain of God the Oldoinyo Lengai.Īrriving at Kilimanjaro international airport/ Arusha airport or guests arriving by shuttle bus from Nairobi will be received by our guide(s) and then taken to the booked hotel depending on their arrival time as the guests that arrived late or during night time will spend the night at a booked hotel in Arusha, but for the guests that arrived early will definitely start a safari from Arusha to the Maasai boma. The view on the mountain summit crater north lies the lake Natron which stretches itself in the distance and beyond the lake lies the Kenyan border. This is highly fluid lava that has almost no silicon contents. This mountain has an active volcano and is the only known volcano in the world that sometimes erupt Natrocarbonatite lava. South of the lake Natron lies the Mountain Oldoinyo Lengai (which is locally regarded as the sacred mountain of God in Maasai language). Also the lake supports the existence of Tilapia and organisms like algaes which are the Flamingoes food thus flocks of Flamingoes will be seen feeding on the lake. The lake is famous as it is one of Flamingoes breeding site. The lake is shallow and is less than three (3) meters deep (9.8 ft) and has a maximum of 57 kilometers length and 22 kilometers width. The lake is receiving water principally from Ewaso Ng’iro River which rises in central Kenya, also the lake receives water by mineral rich hot springs. ![]() The lake is in the Gregory rift which is in the eastern branch of East African rift valley. Lake Natron is a salt and Soda Lake found in Arusha region in northern Tanzania, the lake is situated close to the Kenyan border.
